Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology.
Two central aspects of partner acrobatics are communication and safety! Partner acrobatics are universal, whether you dance salsa, bachata, samba or zouk. Themes in this course are: body tension, breathing, communication and posture. We will practice lifts, jumps and drops. Experience in partner dancing is desirable.
In contact improvisation you will focus on connecting with the body of your partner through dance/movement material. What are the physical contact points that connect two bodies? Can you switch leader and follower or can you be both? The organic way of moving and the physical connection are also very useful in partner dance.
Jazz dance is an American dance style from the early twentieth century and is mainly used in musicaltheater, film, cabaret and television.
Capoeira is a Brazilian fight dance. Two people dance in a circle of people ‘roda’.
Often it is in the small things we can make our dance more beautiful, feminine and sensual.
Laili is a sensual, organic mover and will teach you the secrets how to move natural and beautiful.
We will work with techniques, isolations and some choreo to find that sensual dancer within you.
This class will help your zouk dancing or bachata sensual dancing to become a stronger solo dancer!
In this class we focus on refining dance movements. Themes are: arms, foot placement and body movements. The techniques are integrated into a small choreo.
